Archbold Medical Center North Tower Expansion

  • Archbold Medical Center North Tower Expansion

This project added an eight-story, 247,000 square-foot addition featuring a new Emergency Department with five more exam rooms, four fast track rooms, and two trauma rooms to the existing hospital in Thomasville, Georgia. The North Tower surgical suites will accommodate new imaging and monitoring devices, while providing the overall space required for optimal care. The new Intensive Care Unit will gain six more beds and three patient bed units with 32 beds per unit will occupy the top three floors. Included in this project are seven surgery rooms, three critical treatment rooms, 22 post-operative rooms, PACU recovery, X-ray room, and a Cath. lab. The upper floors of the patient tower contain 128 patient rooms, including ICU rooms. Regency also provided low voltage systems for patient monitoring, nurse call, telemetry, access control, security, intercom and PA, data, and telephone. The construction schedule was fast paced, with start to completion in only 21 months. This tower replaced numerous services that are housed in older hospital structures that date back to 1927.
