Florida Hospital Patient Tower

  • Florida Hospital Patient Tower

Florida Hospital Altamonte added a six-story, patient tower, doubling the size of the current hospital. This project consisted of a 37-bed Emergency Department and the addition of surgical suites consisting of 7 Isolation Rooms, 5 Triage Rooms, 15 Treatment Rooms, 8 Pediatric Rooms, 2 Trauma/Resuscitation Rooms, 11 ICU/CCU Rooms and 2 Radiographic Rooms. The tower also includes the Lobby, Patient Admission, office support facilities, meeting rooms, and private offices. The tower features 72 private rooms and cardiology diagnostic services, including electrocardiograms, echocardiograms, stress tests, and nuclear medicine. The new operating rooms are equipped with the most sophisticated technology, to attract the most skilled surgeons to Seminole County. The penthouse has the HVAC equipment for the tower and the elevator machine rooms. Regency Electric provided a VE Package for the lighting, saving the Owner over $100,000. The new Tower is fed from a new 2000A Service from a new Transformer. There are also 3 600A and 1 250A Emergency services including new Automatic Transfer Switches in the new tower from the existing hospitals generator facility and a 600A Critical Buss Riser and a 600A Normal Buss Riser that provides power to the Tower Floors. This project was successfully ACHA reviewed.
