This project is a new medical and surgical center consisting of a new central energy plant, approximately 150,000 square feet of renovation, and a 215,000 square foot, six-story addition to the existing medical center. This building is designed to withstand severe hurricane-force storms. Regency Electric provided pricing and design input beginning one year prior to construction commencing. Included in this project are offices, a gymnasium, and special procedures rooms, such as the new Cysto, Cath Lab, CT Scan, Endo, Mammo, Dialysis, and X-Ray. In addition, there are complete MRI facilities and nine new operating rooms with 24 new post-operation recovery rooms. Facility electrical highlights entail five 3,000 amp switchboards, two 1,250KW emergency generators, and associated Zenith paralleling switchgear with peak shaving capacity.
